About the Project

Launched in March 2024, Project Street Science is an endeavor focused on expanding access to application-based science education for younger students from underserved communities in peri-urban India. Its multifaceted approach to STEM learning is grounded in the principles of accessibility, inclusivity, and empowerment, where science can become the vehicle for social progress.

At Street Science, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to discover the joy of scientific inquiry and exploration, regardless of their socioeconomic background. All our initiatives center around bridging the gaps between theory and practice by providing students with hands-on learning experiences in the fields of physics, chemistry, and biology. This includes a set of activity books with easy-to-understand and low-resource experiments for children, along with a series of children’s books espousing the values of curiosity and exploration in science while also offering knowledge about fundamental science concepts through an engaging medium. Furthermore, we plan to take our project further with fundraising campaigns and science starter kits for children supported by a non-profit organization: these will facilitate practical and experiential learning experiences and serve as an important step in leveling the educational playing field in India. 

Project Street Science envisions a future where all children in India feel curious about the world around them, empowered to pursue their dreams in STEM, and most importantly, committed to taking ownership of their own future by solving global problems.
